This was a project where I’d be working with a geographically dispersed group of people to design a learning artefact on radicalization using the medium of Digital Storytelling. I utilized a theoretical framework and a design pattern to come up with the design of using a non-linear narrative. I drew the inspiration for the non-linear digital story from my research on digital radicalization and 15 interviews with people that were radicalized by content they had found on the Internet. I then wrote a non-linear digital story that explained this phenomenon and put it together and published it to html using the Twine app. The non-linear narrative was evaluated against several heuristics to ensure it was usable, engaging, and taught the necessary areas to comprehensively cover the required learning.
